Exil

Celebrate and promote Ilminster and its community

Experience Ilminster Community Interest Company (Exil) was set up in 2007 following a public vote on the awarding of a grant from South Somerset District Council.

Exil’s  purpose is to celebrate and promote Ilminster and its community in all its variety and to raise the town’s profile in the surrounding area.

As a Community Interest Company all of the people involved in its administration and activities, including its directors, are volunteers and receive no financial benefits – any surplus the company makes has to be retained to benefit the community.

It acts as a community resource and makes its facilities and experience in promoting Events (including the Ilminster Midsummer Experience)  available to other community groups or for public celebrations.

Recently we have provided administrative and practical assistance to Ilminster Town Crier Competition, British Disabled Strongman Competition and Ilminster’s Somerset Day event.

IMEx

To celebrate and promote Ilminster and its community the Ilminster Midsummer Experience is an annual event taking place during the second weekend (Thu – Sun) in June…in 2021, moved to 24th – 27th June to comply with the Covid restrictions

The Activities are either organised by IMEx itself or IMEx facilitates and supports local community groups and entities to put on an Activity. All Event and Activity Organisers are welcome to be in touch to put forward their idea/concept for an Activity to check if there is a time slot available in the crowded 4 days !
